On November 28, 2025, as part of the International 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, Agahozo Shalom Youth Village invited the Center for Justice and Advocacy to engage students in an informative and interactive session on Transformative Approaches to Gender-Based Violence.

The session aimed at deepening students' understanding of what constitutes gender-based violence, how it manifests in various community settings and the critical role young people play in prevention and early response.

In this regard, a number of creative plays, spoken-word pieces and musical performances were showcased in the event to help drive the message into the students' minds. Each artistic piece represented various forms of GBV, showing both subtle and overt forms of harm that seem invisible.

These performances also taught students not only how to identify GBV but also gave them much-needed clarity on what to do when one becomes a victim or a witness, such as seeking support, ways of reporting and peer-to-peer protection strategies.
